Mr. Mehra is the co-founder of GT Gold, having joined the board on November 22, 2016 in conjunction with GT Gold’s initial public listing. Mr. Mehra, a senior executive and entrepreneur with 35 years of experience in mining and metals, has founded and actively managed numerous companies and has extensive expertise in the debt and equity capital markets.
Mr. Mehra is Chief Executive Officer at Astor Management AG, a private investment and advisory business, working in the fields of mining, technology, biotech and real estate. From 2001 to 2011, Mr. Mehra served as Chief Executive Officer and Co-Owner of the metals trading and marketing company MRI Trading AG (formerly Marc Rich + Co Investment AG), successfully selling the firm in 2011. From 1990 to 2000, he served as a Senior Partner at the mining and commodity trading company Glencore International AG (and its predecessor), where he ran the nickel and cobalt businesses and was responsible for establishing Glencore's operations in India. Mr. Mehra commenced his career with the international commodities trading company Philipp Brothers in London, England.
Mr. Mehra is also a director and Non-Executive Chair of ScoZinc Mining Ltd and a director of Fancamp Exploration Ltd. both of which are mineral exploration and development companies. As well, he is a director of RISE Life Science Corp., a developer of health and wellness products. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy and Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Mr. Rutherford joined the board on October 11, 2019. He has more than 25 years of experience in investment management and investment banking, specializing in the global mining and metals sector. Mr. Rutherford brings considerable financial, capital markets and transaction insights to the board from his experience as an institutional investor, a research analyst and a corporate director.
From 1997 to 2013, Mr. Rutherford was a Senior Vice President of Capital International Investors, a division of Capital Group, one of the world’s largest and longest established investment management companies. At Capital Group he was responsible for investments globally in the mining & metals industry. Prior to joining Capital Group, Mr. Rutherford served as Vice President of Equity Research for the investment bank HSBC James Capel, based in New York, covering the South American mining & metals industry. Before that he served as an investment analyst with Credit Lyonnais, covering UK diversified industrials, and with CRU International, providing analysis and consultancy on the copper industry.
Mr. Rutherford is also the Non-Executive Chair of the gold mining company Centamin plc and Senior Independent Director of mining royalty company Anglo Pacific Group plc. From 2013 to 2020 he was an independent non-executive director of the multinational mining company Anglo American plc, where he also served as a member of the Audit, Sustainability and Remuneration Committees.
Mr. Rutherford holds a BSc in Economics and Computer Science from Queen’s University Belfast (UK), an MA in Development Economics from the University of Sussex (UK) and is also an alumnus of the London Business School.
Mr. Adams joined the board on June 14, 2018. He has more than 25 years of experience in the mining industry and has been President, CEO and a director of the gold mining company New Gold Inc since September 2018.
Prior to New Gold, Mr. Adams was President and Chief Executive Officer of Richmont Mines Inc., from 2014 until the sale of Richmont to Alamos Gold in November 2017 for an implied equity value of approximately US$770 million. From 2011 to 2014, Mr. Adams was the Chief Operating Officer at Primero Mining Corporation, and prior to that he was with IAMGOLD Corporation from 2007 to 2011 as the General Manager of the Rosebel mine in Suriname and then the Senior Vice President, Americas Operations. Prior to IAMGOLD, Mr. Adams held various senior positions at mining operations located in the Americas.
Mr. Adams is also a director and Non-Executive Chair of the gold exploration company Omai Gold Mines Corp. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining and Mineral Processing from Laval University in Quebec City. He is a member of the Ordre Ingénieurs Québec.
Mr. Finn joined the board on July 29, 2019. He has more than 40 years of experience in mining and mineral exploration, mostly with the multinational gold mining company Newmont Mining Corp. He is Newmont’s nominee director on the GT Gold board.
Since 2020 Mr. Finn has been Group Executive for the Americas overseeing exploration and development at eight Newmont operations in five countries. From 2014-2019 he was Newmont’s Group Executive Exploration, responsible for exploration and resource development in South America. Prior to that he spent seven years in Accra, Ghana leading the Africa-wide project generation program as Group Executive Exploration after focusing his efforts on exploration business development in Latin America, with a focus on the Yanacocha area. From 1997 to 2002 he worked as Assistant to the Vice President Exploration in Denver, Colorado after spending five years overseeing Northwest U.S. exploration from Helena, Montana. He first joined Newmont in August 1989, working in the Carlin operations for his first three years. Prior to his career at Newmont, Mr. Finn held various shorter-term exploration and development positions in California and Nevada.
Mr. Finn holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Science in Geology from the University of Nevada-Reno. He is a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists.
Mr. Harbidge was appointed GT Gold’s President, Chief Executive Officer and a director on September 3, 2019. He is a geologist with more than 20 years of experience in mining exploration and development.
Before GT Gold, Mr. Harbidge was Senior Vice President of Exploration at the multinational gold mining company Goldcorp Inc. from 2016 until its acquisition by Newmont Mining Corp. in April 2019. Prior to that, Mr. Harbidge successfully led the Exploration Team at the gold miner Randgold Resources Limited, resulting in five gold discoveries including the +5Moz Gounkoto deposit in the Loulo area of Mali and the +4Moz Massawa deposit in Senegal.
Mr. Harbidge is also a director of the gold exploration company Japan Gold Corp. He has a First-Class Honours Degree in Geology from Kingston University, London UK and a Masters of Science in Mineral Exploration and Mining Geology from Leicester University (UK).
Mr. Pallot is a founding member of the board, having joined on November 22, 2016 in conjunction with GT Gold’s initial public listing. He has more than 20 years of experience with junior resource and capital pool companies.
Other than GT Gold, Mr. Pallot is a director of three companies: Klondike Gold Corp, Vincero Capital Corp and Califfi Capital Corp. He has previously served as a director of six other companies, including two, Windarra Minerals Ltd. and Westward Minerals, for which he also served as Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Pallot began his career with Telus Corp. in 1970, serving 32 years in progressive positions within the Business Communications Group.
Mr. Reynolds joined the board on October 11, 2019. He has more than 40 years of experience in the natural resources sector, including almost 25 years of experience with Randgold Resources Limited and its predecessors.
Mr. Reynolds served on the Randgold executive team responsible for developing and executing the original success strategy, whereby Randgold grew from an exploration company to a very profitable mid-tier multi-asset mining company. Mr. Reynolds first joined Rand Mines Limited in 1985, holding various positions in geological management and progressively key responsibilities in the technical oversight of mining operations including Feasibility studies, audits, compliance and evaluation of new opportunities in the successor company, Randgold & Exploration Company Limited. Mr. Reynolds began his career in oil and coal exploration, moving into deep level gold mining with Gencor Ltd in the Free State Goldfields.
He is also a director of the mineral exploration and development company Mkango Resources Ltd. and was formerly Non-Executive Chair of Digby Wells Environmental, one of the foremost mining environmental consultancies in Africa. He has previously served as a director of three other listed companies.
Mr. Reynolds holds a Master of Science in Geology from Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa and a Graduate Diploma of Mining Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, a Member of the Geological Society of South Africa and is Registered as a Professional Natural Scientist.
Ms. Shipley joined the board on September 16, 2020. She has more than 14 years of experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer and is a partner at Lawson Lundell LLP in Vancouver. She advises public and private companies in a wide range of industries, including mining, energy and natural resources. Her areas of expertise include Indigenous and environmental law, regulatory matters, continuous disclosure and corporate governance practices.
Ms. Shipley’s Indigenous and environmental law practice involves assisting with the negotiation of impact benefit and other agreements with Indigenous groups in relation to proposed developments and permitting and regulatory matters for large and small projects throughout British Columbia.
Ms. Shipley is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and holds both a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Tarnocai joined the board on January 29, 2018. He has 32 years of experience in international mining and mineral exploration.
Most recently, he was Vice President, Corporate Development, for Alamos Gold Inc. During the 7 year period with Alamos Gold, he was responsible for the identification, financial and technical evaluation, and acquisition of development and production-stage mining projects. These projects included the development stage Agi-Dagi and Kirazli deposits in Turkey (with 1.8Moz of Proven and Probable gold reserves) and the Young-Davidson gold mine in Ontario (3.7Moz of Proven and Probable gold reserves). He was also involved in strategic planning, government engagement, and investor relations activities for Alamos Gold.
Prior to this, he held the position of Research Geologist for Placer Dome Inc. During that 13 year period, Dr. Tarnocai conducted project evaluations in North and Central America, Africa, and Europe. He also conducted resource identification projects at various open pit and underground mining operations for Placer Dome.
Dr. Tarnocai is a geologist who graduated from the University of Ottawa with a PhD.
